One year since Kris visited Gothenburg

For exactly one year ago (July 10, 2017), Kris joined the summer tv-show Lotta på Liseberg in Gothenburg, Sweden. I want to dedicate this post to myself because it’s one of my most happiest days in my life, I’m gonna tell you my story of the day.

So…I went to Gothenburg on July 10, 2017 to see Kris and Robin Stjernberg perform on the show. I wished to meet him and it came true. After hours of waiting for the show and the chaos during the meet and greet which almost gave a panic attack, he noticed me with a smile. I can’t thank him enough that he saved me from getting a panic attack, if he hadn’t noticed me in the right moment as he did I would got an attack. I really don’t know what I said in the moment but I remember that he asked me if I wanted a picture and he grabbed my phone. I told him that I were the editor of the tributes and he couldn’t look even more happy. He looked at me (I was shaking and almost cried) and said, “Come here, give me another hug”. Then I said to him that I took photos and he told me to send them to him. That’s pretty much everything I remember. Thank you again, Kris.

To celebrate this happy day I thought it’s about time to share some of the photos I took (I’ve added 20 photos in the gallery, find the link to the gallery below) and exclusive content from the dress rehearsal on KKD. I also wanna say that it’s forbidden to repost any of this without credit to Sabina Nilsson Åkö or Kris Kostov Daily.

Video from the DRESS REHEARSAL
(recorded by me and sorry for the shaking)

FULL TELEVISION PERFORMANCE
I feel so bad for Kris for the short voice crack in the tv performance but the rest of the performance was perfect. He sang flawlessly on the dress rehearsal so I feel with him so badly.

“Wolves” cover by Kris Kostov – originally by Selena Gomez & Marshmello

Yesterday, Kris finally uploaded his forgotten cover that he did while he was in Spain in February. The cover of the song Wolves originally by Selena Gomez & Marshmello. We are so surprised how he even could forget he did this cover. It’s so raw and just perfect. You can notice it’s something very special with the cover, it’s a one take video.

I wanna quote Messy‘s message (one of KKD team‘s admins) in our group chat about the cover because she got it so right!

It’s so beautiful in both vocals and visuals.

I can’t agree more with my co-admin. This is such an aesthetic cover and the location is on point. If you haven’t watched the cover yet or want to rewatch you can find the video below.

Selena has been giving us lots of love with her music lately, so I decided to upload a cover of one of my favorite songs by her. Did this in February during my terrific trip to Spain and got too busy with the EP to edit the cover. BTW!!! This is the first recording I made with the amazing Shure Undyne mic that EBBA so kindly presented me with!! Dunno about you, but I love the sound. Warm and mello (bad pun alert!) – Kris Kostov

Kris attended the “Voice of Astana” afterparty on June 15

After Kris joined the Batyrkhan Shukenov’s memorial concert (a part of Voice of Astana) on June 15, he attended the “Voice of Astana” afterparty together with his aunt. The party was held at the bar Tarantino Bar & Grill in Astana, Kazakhstan. I found a footage video from the party but also two insanely beautiful party pictures of Kris from the party. Be sure to watch the video but also check out the photos in the gallery. I hope enjoy the video and the photos!

Eurovision Star sang a song in Kazakh [Article by SPUTNIK KAZAKHSTAN]

Kristian Kostov sang a duet with opera singer Maira Mukhamedkyzy at the memorial of Batyrkhan Shukenov (on Voice of Astana)

ASTANA, 16 Jun – Sputnik. Russian and Bulgarian singer Kristian Kostov performed the song in the Kazakh language and explained how he coped with this challenge.

Second place in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017, Kristian Kostov sang the song “Otan Ana” by Batyrkhan Shukenov. The Kazakh language is familiar to the young performer because his mother is a Kazakh.

“I understand the Kazakh language, I’m in Astana for the fifth time, and every time I sing in Kazakh but it’s the same songs. “Otan Ana” is something new for me. I think that the Kazakh language incredibly musical. This is probably one of the few languages in which there is no fragmentation into words, but there is a fragmentation into syllables. That is, one word flows into another imperceptibly. This gives so many opportunities for writing songs. I’m a composer and I can say that it makes everything simpler. Perhaps that’s why the Kazakh songs are so beautiful,” Kostov said before entering the stage at Batyr’s memorial in Astana.

Kostov performed for the second time on the same stage together with Kazakh performers. In 2012, he was lucky to sing with Batyrkhan Shukenov, and six years later Kristian sang his song in Astana with opera singer Maira Mukhamedkyzy.

“I don’t know what to say, except that I feel lucky, because I had and I have the opportunity to sing with masters, the best of the best,” Kostov said.

During the performance, Kostov could not restrain emotions and interrupted the performance of the song, saying that it was very hard for him. Together with the hall he began to sing “Otan Ana” anew and ripped off applause.

On the question whether there will be repertoire of Kostov’s songs, the artist replied that the concert “doesn’t belong to himself.” However, exclude exclusion from the Kazakh list is not worth it, he added.

“I write more in English, because I have an international contract, so I can’t say anything definite, but I never say never,” Kostov replied with a smile.

Kris’ new YouTube video – Kristian Kostov Q&A June 2018

Earlier tonight our dear Kris Kostov uploaded his latest Q&A on his YouTube channel. He answered two of Messy‘s questions (Messy is a part of the KKD team). Congrats babe for the answers!

I just have to start off with how inspiring he is and he can bright up and give me some strength to go through the hard days. But I’m so weak for his comments about Team Kris, because you can notice how much he adore every single one of us. We should be so thankful to be a part of this family we created to him.

I don’t wanna say so much more about the Q&A more than that he mention a song title from the upcoming EP, exciting! I really can’t wait to get to hear the 4 songs. Kris better release the EP soon, we have waited too long for it, right? You can find the video below, be sure to check it out! It’s a lot of love included in it.

Kris visited the Kazakh morning show Tansholpan on June 14, 2018

Earlier this week, Kris flew to his mother’s birth-country Kazakhstan to perform at “Voice of Astana” but he also visited the Kazakh tv-channel Qazaqstan morning show Tansholpan on June 14 where he sang the Kazakh patriotic song “Atameken” and made an interview. I have uploaded 300 LQ screencaps (but adorable) from the appearance on Tansholpan. I also thought it was about time to link the video. You can find the performance and the interview below. It’s something special when Kris sings “Atameken”. Be sure to watch it and check the screencaps out in the gallery link below.

TBT – Artists singing Imagine live @ UNICEF’s 25th Anniversary of the Adoption of CRC 2014

First, we wanna say sorry for lack of updates this week but we have more important stuff we need to take care before KKD at the moment. It’s middle of exams, lots of work and focus on to get the health under control. But I searched around yesterday and found some content that could be perfect to use as a TBT this week. It’s the performance of John Lennon‘s “Imagine” from UNICEF‘s 25th Anniversary of the Adoption of UNCRC. Kris was one of the honored artists to sing at this Unicef charity event for the #IMAGINE project that took place in New York on November 20, 2014.

UNICEF invites young Russian singer Kristian Kostov to join Hugh Jackman, Katy Perry, Yoko Ono and David Guetta to sing John Lennon’s Imagine and help raise awareness of children’s rights.

Grand finale of a performance of ‘Imagine’, led by the 15 year old singer, Kristian Kostov, who is then joined by all artists on the main stage of the Hall where Yoko Ono sits at a white piano; all are accompanied by a 65 person children’s choir coming down the aisles from the back of the Hall to the stage

Russian singer Kristian Kostov is the only teenage pop star among a host of high profile supporters from all regions in the world to join the #IMAGINE concert, organized by renowned music producer and DJ David Guetta and artist Yoko Ono.

He even got to speak in front of the audience. 14 years old. He’s so grown up for this age especially in this video (please watch the whole video).

I uploaded a few photos in the gallery yesterday from the event that I think you should check out. You find the gallery links below the video.

I hope you like the TBT and once again we’re utterly sorry for the inactivity. We hope we’ll be better at updating soon!
